With the development of petrochemical industry, various gases such as ethylene, propylene, butene, isobutene, butane, pentene and isopentene can be obtained from oil field gas and refinery gas after high temperature cracking and separation and purification. They are good raw materials for synthetic rubber.

In the world rubber production, natural rubber accounts for only about 15%, the rest are synthetic rubber. Synthetic rubber varieties, different performance, in many occasions can replace, even more than natural rubber. Synthetic rubber can be divided into general rubber and special rubber. General rubber consumption is large, such as styrene butadiene rubber accounted for 60% of synthetic rubber production; Followed by butadiene rubber, accounting for 15%; In addition, there are isoprene rubber, neoprene rubber, sodium butadiene rubber, ethylene propylene rubber, butyl rubber, etc., they are universal rubber.
